Mobile unit to boost the bicycle use on the outskirts of the town, connected to local gathering places.
Persona: Black woman, excessively busy, moves along on foot, overloaded by work.
Challenge: How can we help reduce the tension provoked by work overload suffered by people on the outskirts of São Paulo?
Solution: Mobile unit that serves as a gathering place for people who want to rent and repair bicycles, organise workshops on cycling at the outskirts, talk about black feminism or even have a beer while their bikes are repaired.
UPWIT Team Review: Here we share our first impressions on each solution, in order to spark new conversations, obtain specialised counselling or help you build upon these ideas:
What we like most about this idea:
- Mobile units normally have a lean structure, which could help on spreading it out and reaching places that are usually neglected by social policies aimed to cultural purposes.
Needs further thoughts / Concerns:
- Would suggest further thoughts on the main objective: is it help spreading a cycling culture among these women? Is it just a gathering place (so it doesn’t necessarily needs to be attached to bike repairs)? If the problem is that the person is too busy, how can an unity that might be used mainly on spare time be attract these people?
