App that chooses the faster routes for those who…
Mobile app that suggest the best routes for people who move along on foot.
Persona: Black woman, moves along on foot, overloaded by work.
Challenge: How can we help people who live on the outskirts, are overloaded by work and need to move along on foot?
Solution: Mobile app exclusively for women that mixes features similar to Waze and Google Maps in order to suggest the best routes for people who go everywhere walking and also works as a social connection to other pedestrians who are going on the same routes. Signing up will only take place with invitations from other women, in order to reduce fake profiles.
UPWIT Team Review: Here we share our first impressions on each solution, in order to spark new conversations, obtain specialised counselling or help you build upon these ideas:
What we like most about this idea:
- Uses existing technology in a new way and addresses one of the most urgent need for women: safety.
Needs further thoughts / Concerns:
- Would they feel safe using their phones as a gps while walking on the outskirts? Is invitation control the best way to keep the app safe? Can technology help using other criteria for that?
